Which door will you enter when your life ends?

Picture
No one likes to think about that question- we all love life. But what will happen to you after your life is over? Where will you spend eternity? Will you spend it in Heaven or in Hell? The answer to that question has nothing to do with what church you attend, how many good deeds you do, or whether or not you have been baptized. The question is the following: "Have you believed on Jesus Christ as payment for your sins?" The answer to that question determines whether or not you will enter Heaven's gates or be sent to eternal damnation in Hell.

You see, we are all sinners. While we may not try to be bad people, we have a nature that has been passed down to us that dates all the way back to the Garden of Eden. We are disobeyers of God...we all do things that we know are against God, such as lying, stealing, cheating, etc.

Because we are sinners, the Bible says in Romans 6 verse 23 that the "wages" of our "sin is death." Because God is a perfect, just, and holy God, it is impossible for Him to tolerate our sin. The payment for our sin is that we must die...this is why no one has ever lived forever. Not only is the payment of our sin death, the Bible says in Revelation that "death and hell were cast into the lake of fire; this is the second death." Eternal separation from God is what we deserve as payment for our sin. This sounds like pretty bleak news, and it is, BUT there is something awesome that has yet to be told.

John 3:16- "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotton Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Here's what's amazing: God loves us so much that He has provided a way out of our dire situation. His Son, Jesus Christ, came to this earth, was born a virgin birth, lived a perfect life, then went to the cross and died for our sins so that we might have a way out! He did not stay in the grave, for after three days and three nights, He arose from the grave and defeated death itself.

What does this mean? This means that you must understand where you stand with God...you are a sinner without a way to pay for it. Ephesians 2:8-9 states, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." There is no good work or deed that you can do that is sufficient to pay for your sin. John 3:16 says "whosoever believeth on him" will have everlasting life. So, right where you are, bow your head, and pray to God, admitting your sin condition, and turn to Christ as payment for your sin, believing on Him for salvation, and you will be saved! There are no magic words to say, just simple faith and trust for forgiveness of sins.
